Heeerree's Johnny!

As you've probably heard, television legend Johnny Carson past away on Sunday. He will forever be remembered as the true pioneer of late night and one of the funniest people to ever grace the screen. Less than a week ago I was thrilled to find out that Johnny was a secret writer for David Letterman. He kept up with all of the current events and would from time to time write a few jokes for Dave's monologue. Nothing can beat when he interviewed the woman who collected potatoe chips that were shaped like characters and while she wasn't looking he took a bite of, what she didn't know, another normal potato chip. A great article sums up his career and the marks he has left for all of us to enjoy.

Johnny Carson is and will continue to be an inspiration for many.

Hunting

So you've probably noticed that I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy hunting for a new apartment. For those of you who have had to do the same you probably know what a pain it can be. This all started about two months ago. I wanted to get an early start on the search. I found a couple of places I liked and one that was priced great. That one couldn't tell their availabilty until 30 days before I had planned on moving. I pretty much decided on this one. Well then 30 days to moving day rolls around and they tell me they have 2 units available for the price and size that I wanted. I call the next day and they tell me they were looking at the wrong page, they never actually had them available. They did however have a unit 60 square feet larger but for almost $100 more a month. I took a tour of this floor plan. It stunk like sewage and was not worth the $600 a month I'd be paying. So, as my moving day drew closer the search had to be restarted. To narrow down my search I first started looking online at rentals in the area I wanted to live. Then I called to see what their availability was, most didn't answer though. So then I spent days driving around touring places and finding out they no longer had any availability and hearing "you really should have started looking much earlier". And if you thought their was truth on the internet, definitely don't go to any of these rentals websites. They make the places sound so great and even have nice pictures. There was one that I decided to go check out. I quickly decided to keep driving after I noticed two police cars in front, a weed shop and a tire rental store next door. So to any of you who are looking for apartments right now...good luck!
